Terms of use
The service
AlertPermit, operated by InnovE-Tech Solutions inc., emails the building permits that the cities served publish as open data, sorted by the city, trades and areas you choose.
Trial
The trial is free and asks for no card. Once your address is confirmed, you receive one list: the first one that contains permits for your trades. It does not renew on its own and commits you to nothing.
Subscription
CA$99 a month, plus applicable tax (GST and QST, or HST, depending on your province), payable in advance each month. You can cancel at any time: cancelling stops the next renewal, at no cost.
30-day guarantee
If, during your first 30 days of paid subscription, no permit matches your trades and areas, we refund the first month — just ask at alerts@alertpermit.com.
The data
Permits are reproduced as the cities publish them, under their licences (see Sources and licences). A city may publish late, correct or withdraw a permit, or stop its dataset; we do not guarantee that what it publishes is complete or accurate.
A permit means the work is authorized, not that a contract is up for grabs.
Your use
You use the lists for your own business; you do not resell or republish them. Before visiting an address or soliciting anyone, you follow your province's door-to-door sales rules and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability, whatever its cause, is limited to the amounts you paid us over the last three months.
End of service
The link at the bottom of every email unsubscribes you immediately. If a city stops publishing its permits, we will tell you by email.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and Canada.
